CROSS COUNTRY is a great sport for all athletes. It’s running up hill and down hills, on grass or trails, around lakes and ponds, at parks and on fields. Boys and girls will get in top shape. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it. It won’t take long to feel good and see improvements, but it does take regular practice.
Our coaches believe in a fun and healthy environment in which our athletes can develop at a rate designed for each individual. Our practices are challenging, which helps our future leaders build self-motivation. Our practice runs will begin at 2 miles and work up to 4 miles. There will be shorter runs for our youngest athletes.

· Practices are 3 days a week: Monday & Wednesday evenings, and Saturday morning.
· All practices will be held rain or shine at Spring Lake/Howarth Park in Santa Rosa.
· Runners will meet at the upper parking lot of Howarth Park near the boat ramp.

ü Registration fee covers, a Santa Rosa Express shirt, club expenses, personal insurance, and USATF/SRX practice and meet insurance.

Registration will close for the 2017 season on September 16, 2017.
In order to attend and participate at practice and events, all forms must be completed and fees must be paid.
Your participation will not only be a healthy, enjoyable experience for you and your child, but it is critical for the success of Santa Rosa Express. We must have at least 3 parent volunteers to help monitor the course for each practice. You do not need to be a runner. Runners will not be able to run if we don’t have enough parent monitors.
Cross Country Meets
THE MORE MEETS THE ATHLETES PARTICIPATE IN THE MORE THEY IMPROVE AND THE SOONER THEY IMPROVE! Most meets are on Sundays. They begin in mid-September and go through November. Most of the meets on the schedule are part of the Pacific Association /USA Track & Field Youth Program. We also encourage our runners to participate in some local races.
